The 1979 Islamic revolution in Iran introduced the idea of hijab law. Wearing a hijab became obligatory for all Iranian women in April 1983. In September 2022 Mahsa Amini was killed by morality police because of an improper hijab. Her death sparked a revolution in Iran. During protests, Iranian women burn their hijabs in the street and they fight for their freedom along with men.
